Pre-cutting
So-called “easy-opening” packagings are often not so easy, and the task of opening a sachet of sauce or a packet of nuts is much trickier than it should be. The pre-cutting technique is applied to multi-layer films for packaging. It consists in making successive incisions, perfectly visible for the end consumer, in one or more of the layers, leaving 100% intact the one that protects the material. This is possible because the materials that make up the different layers have different properties of absorption and reflection of the laser beam.

Micro-perforation
The quality and durability of packaged perishable products depends on the compromise established between ventilation and protection against moisture. The quantity and diameter of the micro-perforations are crucial factors in achieving this balance.
